Air Transat Flight 236

Once they did reach the Lajes Air Base, they had to make many 360 degree turns. Then on final approach, they were still going too fast for a landing. The plane bounced but then touched down at 2800 thousand feet down from the approach end. At the end of the stopping they were 7600 ft down the runway!
If they had not flown farther down the Atlantic, they would have not been able to get to the Azores.

`In conclusion, the pilots of Air Transat Flight 236 did something AMAZING!

Then, disaster struck. The #2 engine flamed out. Thirteen minutes later, the #1 engine flamed out. The hydraulics to the flaps, brakes, and other things were lost.
